A vendor’s capacity to implement the solution is equally as important as the product you select.  FSLI’s experience over the last 23 years has taught us the value of proper implementation management.  FSLI provides all of the implementation services directly to the client with no service sub-contracted to a third party.  As a result, FSLI bears the complete responsibility for your firm’s implementation.  Our services are the mortar that make our solution a solid foundation for your firm.  The core services FSLI provides its customers during the implementation phase of a project include:

Needs Assessment:  To ensure your project is a success, FSLI must fully understand your firm’s detailed requirements.  Our sales team conducts a detailed analysis of the firm’s specific needs prior to writing a final contract.  We can then accurately plan and budget for the delivery of all of the firm’s critical needs.  This approach provides the mechanism for accurate budgeting and realistic project scheduling.  Detailed requirements are defined as:

Project Management:  Once your firm has committed to FSLI, our support department goes to work to ensure your success.  You are now in the hands of one of the most experienced project teams in our industry.  Our implementation team begins with a thorough review and analysis of the firm’s detailed requirements done in conjunction with the firm’s staff.  During this phase, all deliverables are identified and labeled, tasks are assigned and scheduled, and mutually agreed upon project outlines and timelines are created.  As with any complex project, the old adage remains true, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”.

Installation: Unlike many systems, the installation of PD Partner is straight forward and automated.  A routine installation takes less than 1 day.  PD Partner can be configured so that updates are loaded to a central location and then automatically deployed to individual workstations the next time a user runs the PD Partner application.   This eliminates the IT resource requirements normally associate with new release roll-outs.  If requested, FSLI has resources available for on-site installation assistance.

Training: All training takes place at the firm.  Our trainer provides  customized training specifically tailored to your firm’s requirements with handout materials for training reinforcement.  Training occurs in a classroom environment with no additional charges for multiple students.  For some processes such as time entry, FSLI recommends the “train-the-trainer” approach.  An FSLI trainer will teach an employee how to use Time Entry and how to instruct other employees on its use.  This reduces the overall training costs to the firm and ensures there is a certified “expert” on-site.

Customization: FSLI provides consulting services to “customize” the system to the firm’s specific requirements.  This most frequently applies to  reports and bill styles.  All output from PD Partner is generated by Crystal Reports report writer, an industry standard.  Anyone trained in Crystal Reports can create or modify reports or inquiries to meet the firm’s ever changing needs.

Data Conversion: FSLI provides your initial data conversion twice.  The first conversion is done to create training data and allow the firm to audit our conversion routines.  The second conversion is done to go live on the PD Partner system. FSLI is normally contracted to provide complete, detailed conversions carrying forward as much historical data as is available through the legacy system. We have experience converting numerous custom systems including everything from small standalone DOS products to highly complex minicomputer based solutions.  In every case, FSLI will provide an accurate, timely and cost effective data conversion.
